Justice: our hope in a divided world

UWE Bristol will welcome Professor Mona Siddiqui to give the St Matthias Lecture 2017 on Tuesday 10 October at 19:00 in Bristol Cathedral.

This year, the Lecture takes place in partnership with Bristol Cathedral, UWE Bristol's ceremonial home, and the Journey to Justice exhibition and programme taking place in the city.

Professor Siddiqui's may be a familiar voice from BBC Radio 4's Thought for the Day or The Moral Maze. She is Professor of Islamic and Interreligious Studies at Edinburgh University where she is also Assistant Principal for Religion and Society and Dean International for the Middle-East. Her research areas are primarily in the field of Islamic jurisprudence and ethics and Christian-Muslim relations.

It will be a great honour to welcome such an inspirational female Muslim speaker to the city of Bristol.

Read a brief history of St Matthias Campus. The St Matthias Lecture is the lasting legacy of the relationship between St Matthias College and UWE Bristol and brings together the subjects of faith and education in a way that continues to have meaning for the present University community.
